Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn (born on 19th August 1965), is an American actress. She is best known for playing the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. Following the conclusion of the seventh season the show was cancelled on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles in films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and with English heritage. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
